1978 he started to work at different free-theatres as actor, stage artist, technician and manager in Berlin

Since 1985 he experiments with dance on his own, especially with the German "Ausdruckstanz" (expressionism dance) of the 20th and the Japanese Butoh dance, studying with Tetsuro Tamura, Akaji Maro, Kazuo Ohno and Anzu Furukawa in Tokyo.


In 1987 he founded tatoeba-THÉÂTRE DANSE GROTESQUE with Minako Seki and Yumiko Yoshioka in Berlin. 

Till 1997 he was playing as dancer, choreographer and/or director as well as light & stage artist, and producer at all tatoeba-TDG's own productions • touring Europe, Japan and North America.


In 1995 and 1999 he created and directed together with Yumiko Yoshioka "Ex... it!" the 1st and 2nd international symposium dance exchange project at the art-in-residence centre of schloss bröllin <broellin castle> (International Theatre Research Location) in ex-East Germany (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern)


Since 1998 he explores dance in its interactive possibilities.  In his “Ritual Feetwash Ceremonies” he presents an interactive dance-installation for one audience as a public event. (website:

Since 2000 he works with Felix Ruckert in his interactive dance performances “Deluxe Joy Pilot”, “Ring” and “SECRET SERVICE”


Besides he works as performer, director and light designer for different dance and theatre companies.
